Student:
On this site, there are various mathematics assignments grouped into categories. Each category is divided into 5 levels. When a student selects a level, five questions are displayed. The student works on these questions and hits the send button. The results are displayed immediately.
Each correct answer earns the student a golden star. To encourage the students to do more practice in mathematics, we have ensured that only the last 25 problems have an impact on the overall results. You have bad results? No worries! Just do more math problems on the level and you will eventually push the bad results out of the list! Remember, Practice makes perfect.
The student can collect 25 stars at every level. Maintaining these golden stars current is the most important thing you can do.
The golden star
stays in a student's portfolio for half a year. The star changes to silver
after half a year and finally turns bronze
on the second year. The only way to maintain golden stars in one's portfolio is by making sure that you do many mathematics problems in each level. The more you questions you solve, the better you become at math. The more mathematics problems done on each of those five levels, the more golden your portfolio remains.
Teacher:
This site does cater for teachers as well. The math teacher can be able to follow the progress of their students. On setting up the profile, the teacher chooses an ID. This unique teacher ID can be provided to the students and when they key-in this ID, the teacher can access the students' portfolio. As a teacher, you can keep reminding the students to do more questions.
